The pool safety phase of construction is known as barrier code. There are several ways to keep the pool safe so it is not accessible by unaccompanied children. There are a few ways to accomplish this depending on your over all goals. A barrier fence can be installed around the pool with a self closing and self latching gate. If a pool fence is not desired, then any door or gate leading to the pool area must be self closing and self latching and the pool must be contained in an area surrounded by a non-climbable wall at least 54″ high. If you live in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Cave Creek or other parts of Arizona, codes may vary by location.
