Pool Building Process

Plan, Design & Visualize

The first thing to happen is to plan, design, and get the permits.

Creating the Vision

The first thing to take place in the pool construction process is planning, permits and engineering. Beginning with your pool plan, this is where all of the ideas, concepts, designs and functionality are put into our design software and the idea becomes visual. The pool design may go through several drafts before arriving at the final swimming pool design that is best for you. In many cases, we not only design the pool, but also design the entire yard, including landscaping, fireplaces, etc., so everything will compliment each other and function as desired. We not only design the visual part of the pool or spa, we also design the plumbing, electrical and gas layout of the pool.

The second part of this initial phase is the structural engineering of the pool and spa. The steel specifications are specific to each pool or spa. While basic pools have standard engineering specifications, more complicated pools and spas have re-bar specs insure the swimming pool is built with structural integrity. Some of the features on pools that require complex engineering are swim up bars, large rock and boulder water features, ramadas or pergolas on the pool and masonry structures.

After acquiring the re-bar engineering for the pool or spa, it is time to get the permit. Construction cannot begin until this happens and city requirements vary from city to city. Scottsdale has different requirements than Phoenix. Maricopa County has different requirements than Paradise Valley or Cave Creek. Anthem is considered Phoenix. Also different municipalities handle permits in different ways. Once the permit application has been submitted with all the necessary paperwork, it could be 1 day or several weeks before the permit is issued depending on whether the pool is in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Cave Creek, Anthem, Paradise Valley, etc. Once the permit is issued, it is time for the layout.
